There will be two exciting semifinals tonight at the Ayala Best of the West tournament.

Edison (11-0), ranked No. 5 in the Southland by The Times, will play No. 11 Cajon (14-0) at 7:30 p.m. at Chino Hills Ayala High. In the other semifinal, No. 8 Etiwanda (8-1) will play Bishop Amat (12-1) at 6 p.m.

Bishop Amat Coach Richard Wiard was realistic about his team’s chances against Etiwanda.

‘We don’t match up with them at all,’ he said. ‘They’re going to be taller than us at every pposition by two to three inches.’

Wiard said the Lancers are going to rely on their big-game experience to compensate for what they lack in height. After all, they made it all the way to the Division 3 state championship last season.
