A 31-year-old South Laguna man died early Friday after apparently jumping from the 14th floor of the Irvine Hilton Hotel, police said. The man, identified by the coroner’s office as Alvaro Jorge Pacheco, was discovered outside the hotel by an employee, according to Irvine Investigator Jim Potts. Pacheco may have been in the process of moving to Los Angeles or Pasadena, police said. Police are treating the death as a suicide. No note was found.
