The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring two Halloween events.

Students in the sixth through eighth grades are invited to attend Monster Movie Night at the Crown Valley Community Park recreation center from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $2. Popcorn, drinks and snacks will be 25 cents each.

The center is at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway.

Recreation supervisor Sylvia Friederichsen said the department is taking suggestions from children on what movies they would like to see. Suggestions can be made by calling (714) 362-4350. Only movies rated PG or PG-13 will be considered, Friederichsen said.

The final movie bill will be announced on the teen activity hot line, (714) 362-4351.

On Oct. 29 and 30, the department will hold its seventh annual haunted house from 5 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 10 p.m. in the Laguna Niguel Plaza shopping center at Alicia Parkway and Pacific Island Drive.
