U.S. Signs Immunity Pacts With 5 Nations

The White House announced agreements with five more countries to exempt Americans from prosecution by the International Criminal Court.

Washington says it fears that Americans, particularly soldiers abroad, could fall victim to politically motivated prosecutions.

The Bush administration has signed treaties with more than 35 countries that have agreed not to hand over U.S. citizens to the court. The latest are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Djibouti, Mauritius and Zambia.
