Actress Andrea Parker, who appears on the show “Pretty Little Liars,” and her husband, film producer Michael Birnbaum, have listed their retreat in Palm Desert for sale at $1.139 million.

Built in 1955, the contemporary residence brings to mind a Shangri-La with its layers of tropical landscaping, bamboo hedges and a waterfall-fed saltwater swimming pool. The single-story house opens to expansive deck space for indoor-outdoor living. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring views of the lush scenery inside.

The 2,673 square feet of open-plan living space includes a great room with a fireplace, a formal dining area, an eat-in kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Vaulted and beamed ceilings, recessed lighting and tile floors are among the appointments.

The master suite, which has another fireplace and a tiled bath, opens through sliding glass doors to a trellis-topped spa.

Also on the half-acre site is an outdoor kitchen/bar. A covered parking area sits beyond the private and gated entrance.

Gregg Fletcher and Richard Bartholomew of The Agency are the listing agents.

Parker, 47, has television credits that include “ER,” “The Pretender” and “Desperate Housewives.” She won a WIN Award in 2005 for her role as Lydia Weston on the sitcom “Less than Perfect.”

Birnbaum produced the films “Bandits” (2001) and “John Tucker Must Die.” He was an executive producer for the 2005 movie “The Big White.”

The couple bought the property more than a decade ago for $685,000, property records show.
