Former Major League Baseball outfielder Jermaine Dye has put his home in Poway, Calif., on the market for $4.2 million.

Dye, who officially retired in 2011, bought the house the following year from Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams for $3.3 million, records show.

Set behind gates in the Heritage, a gated community, the sprawling estate features a Spanish-style main house, a lagoon-style swimming pool, a basketball half-court, a putting green and a turf field on more than four acres.

Fronted by a circular motor court, the single-story residence opens to a step-down living room and dining room flanked by a row of stone archways and topped by cathedral-style ceilings. Interior details including coffered ceilings, stone accents and wrought iron chandeliers are in keeping with the Old World aesthetic.

Other spaces include a family room with a 20-foot wall of windows, a home theater, a wet bar and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar. The master suite has an adjoining exercise room and steam shower for a total of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms in about 9,200 square feet.

Outdoors, a loggia with a fireplace and outdoor kitchen overlooks a pool setting complete with a raised spa, a waterslide and a waterfall feature. At the other end of the grounds, a private casita with a sitting room, fireplace and courtyard sits near a six-car garage.
