Instagram gets insta-backlash for upcoming changes [Google+ Hangout]

Instagram is dealing with major backlash after announcing terms of service changes that say the social network may let companies pay to use your photos in their advertisements.

Numerous users, including many photographers, have announced their plans to stop using or leave the Facebook-owned social network.

Notably and quite embarrassingly, Noah Kalina, the photographer who shot Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg’s wedding this year, said he’ll be leaving the service if Instagram doesn’t change the new terms of service.

Instagram and Facebook have not yet addressed the backlash.

The new terms of service go into effect Jan. 16, and the only way to get out of them is by deleting your account.

But Instagram’s loss appears to be many of its rivals’ gains, with many users saying they’ll be posting their photos on other services that include Flickr, EyeEm and Starmatic.
