Nokia’s line of Lumia smartphones is outselling all smartphones made by BlackBerry, including new devices running the BlackBerry 10 operating system, according to their most recent quarterly reports.

The Finnish phone-maker sold 7.4 million of its Lumia devices from April through June. By comparison, BlackBerry sold 6.8 million smartphones in its last quarter, which ran from March to May.

Blackberry said in a teleconference call with analysts that it sold 2.7 million BlackBerry 10 devices during the quarter.

Lumia, with the Windows Phone operating system, and BlackBerry 10 represent both companies’ biggest efforts toward putting a dent into Apple and Google’s hold on the market share for smartphone operating systems.

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10 have been vying for the third-place spot, and it seems Microsoft is winning, thanks in large part to sales of Nokia Lumia.

But while Nokia is helping fend off Microsoft’s third-place rival, it is still struggling as a phone maker. Nokia Lumia sales in the last quarter were below analysts’ expectations of $8.1 million, according to Reuters.
