Channing Tatum parodies Van Damme ‘epic split’ stunt video

Channing Tatum, perhaps emboldened by the summer success of the “(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum” music video with Jamie Foxx, on Monday uploaded a new video: This time, it shows him mimicking Jean-Claude Van Damme’s “epic split,” originally performed using two moving Volvo trucks.

And as those who saw “Magic Mike” can attest, Tatum does have some splits skills.

Tatum, however, who’s in long-haired character as Jenko while filming the “22 Jump Street” movie, was restricted to what was available nearby, so he’s riding, well, two food carts.

It’s sort of the same thing, right?

The video captures the serious mood of the original stunt, right up to the point where a viewer might wonder if Tatum’s about to split his pants. Watch it to see what he’s grabbing in pain when he hits the dirt.

It’s not the only parody of the epic spot, of course. For example, some smarty-pants looked to the news and face-dubbed the visage of embattled Canadian politician Rob Ford over Van Damme’s mug.
