Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez have selected a throwback name for their baby boy.

The tot, born Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, will be called Maceo Robert Martinez, according to several reports.

Maceo means “gift from God,” and Robert is the first name name of Martinez’s Spanish father, according to TMZ, which first reported the nomenclature news.

“They chose it because it means gift from God,” a source told E!, which confirmed the news. “Olivier wanted to give a nod to his Spanish roots. They picked the name a while ago. They love it.”

TMZ also said the name had been popular in the 9th through 14th centuries, and its current iteration is typically Matteo or Matthew.

Maceo is the second child for the Oscar-winning actress, who has a 5-year-old daughter named Nahla with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey. It’s the first child for Martinez, a French actor.

The proud parents, both 47, who met while working on the film “Dark Tide,” announced the baby news in April and married in France in July.

“This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth,” the “X-Men” star told CNN in April, shortly after her pregnancy went public. “I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”

In August, Berry joined actress Jennifer Garner to address the California State Assembly Judiciary Committee on Public Safety in an effort to criminalize the taking of unauthorized photos of children. Gov. Jerry Brown signed the bill into law in September.

“We aren’t just whiny celebrities that many times people think we are,” Berry said in August. “We’re moms here who are just trying to protect our children ... [photographers] say curse words and call me names, all trying to provoke some sort of response to sell a photograph. ... They have the right to take the photographs, as much as I hate it. As much as I hate that my children are objectified that way. This bill still allows them to do that. What we are asking is that they take these pictures with some dignity.”
