Justin Bieber has a date with justice for Valentine’s Day: The pop star’s arraignment has been set for Feb. 14 in Florida.

The 19-year-old “Beauty and the Beat” crooner’s date was set Tuesday by a Miami-Dade Country judge, according to the Associated Press.

Bieber and his pal, R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff, were arrested Thursday in Miami Beach following reports of illegal street racing. Bieber was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license. Neither has been charged with drag racing.

At the arraignment, prosecutors will formally file charges against the Canadian-born pop star and he will enter a plea, which can be entered through an attorney in writing.

“Justin doesn’t have to be there,” Miami state attorney’s office spokesman, Ed Griffith told People. “He will plead not guilty and the process will begin.”

Police said Bieber, who has a past with minor legal troubles, admitted to smoking marijuana, drinking and taking a prescription medication, AP reported.

Police said Bieber smelled of alcohol when he was arrested, though TMZ reports that the pop star and his friend’s blood alcohol levels were .014 and zero, respectively. However, the pair reportedly failed field sobriety tests, which suggests they may have been under the influence of something else, the site said.

The YouTube sensation-turned-pop star was released from custody Thursday afternoon on a $2,500 bond after appearing in court via a video link. He is currently vacationing with friends in Panama, People said.
