Tina Fey, Amy Poehler respond to Taylor Swift ‘hell’ comment

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler didn’t waste time responding to Taylor Swift’s Vanity Fair comments slamming their Golden Globes hosting gig in mid-January.

The consensus: Learn how to take a joke, Taylor.

Swift, 23, whose litany of boyfriends and breakup songs have made her a tabloid favorite, made headlines Tuesday for agreeing with a Madeleine Albright quote she’d heard from Katie Couric.

“ ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women,’ ” Swift repeated to Vanity Fair regarding the “30 Rock” and “Parks and Recreation” stars.

This comes in reference to the “SNL” alums’ dig warning the singer to stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son, Sam, who served as Mr. Golden Globe for the evening.

Poehler, 41, a women’s activist, responded to the jab Tuesday with a bit of remorse and a bit of humor.

“Aw, I feel bad if she was upset,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff. “

As for Fey, who was wrangled for comment at the red carpet premiere of her latest film “Admission” in New York on Tuesday night, she said she didn’t expect Swift to be the one bashing their critically praised gig.

“If anyone was going to get mad at us, I thought it would be James Cameron,” Fey, 42, told ET. “I did not see that one coming.”

“It was a joke and it was a lighthearted joke,” the “Mean Girls” writer said. “And it’s a shame that she didn’t take it in the crazy-aunt spirit in which it was intended.” Watch her and costar Paul Rudd talk about it at the 1:40 mark in the video above.

Of course, Fey was also alluding to her and Poehler’s quip about the “Avatar” director, ex-husband of “Zero Dark Thirty” director Kathryn Bigelow, whose film came under fire for its torture scenes.

“I haven’t paid much attention,” Poehler said at the Globes, “but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron.”

As for Swift, who reportedly made a tidy profit recently when she flipped a home she bought in Massachusetts to be closer to then-boyfriend Conor Kennedy, the question now looms: Which was her worst awards-show nightmare, the diss from Poehler and Fey or the acceptance-speech hijack by Kanye West?
