British pop star Adele has reemerged with an apology to fans for the long wait for a successor to her Grammy-winning 2011 album “21,” announcing on her Twitter feed, “I’m sorry it took so long, but, you know, life happened.”

She revealed that her third album, following her debut, “19,” and her sophomore release “21,” the top-selling album of this decade so far, will be titled “25.” No release date was included in her note.

The acclaimed neo-soul singer and songwriter also gave a few hints of what’s to come thematically.

“My last record was a break-up record, and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record,” she said. “I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”

She described turning 25 last year as “a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties.”

Beyond that, there was nothing in her note about the son she has with businessman Simon Konecki, or other specifics about her life now.
