Veteran Taylor Swift and newcomer Kacey Musgraves are tied with six nominations apiece to lead the 2013 Country Music Assn. Awards, which will be announced Nov. 6 in Nashville.

Swift is vying again for the CMA’s top award of entertainer of the year, the only female nominee in a category that includes Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and George Strait. She’s also in contention for album of the year for her “Red” CD, female vocalist and three more nominations for her part in the hit single and video “Highway Don’t Care” with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban.

First-time CMA nominee Musgraves is competing with Swift for album of the year with her “Same Trailer Different Park” collection, which has been widely critically acclaimed. She’s also up for female vocalist, new artist, single and two nods in the song of the year category.

Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert, each received five nominations, including an album of the year nomination for Shelton’s “Based on a True Story.” Lambert is up again in the female vocalist category with Swift, Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Keith Urban, whose latest album, “Fuse,” was released Sept. 10, scored four nominations.

Underwood is slated to co-host the show with Brad Paisley for the six time. A full list of nominees for the 47th annual CMA Awards is available at the CMA website.
