Jack Bauer is resetting his clock for more “24,” and this time he’s going to have to set it to Greenwich Mean Time.

The thriller series starring Kiefer Sutherland that ran on Fox for eight seasons is coming back for a 12-episode limited series next year, and instead of returning to Jack’s old stomping grounds of Los Angeles or Washington, D.C., the new series will be filmed in the U.K.

Known as “24: Live Another Day,” the new series is the first time the “24” series has filmed outside the United States since the TV movie “24: Redemption,” which was partly filmed in South Africa.

In a statement, Sutherland, who also serves as executive producer on the series, said, “To be able to tell this intense ‘24’-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you’re finished watching an episode, you’ll feel like you’ve been there ... on the edge of your seat.”

“24” as travelogue? Maybe so, but with only 12 hours of the usual 24, there won’t be a lot of time for sightseeing.

Maybe the hours they don’t film are the ones where Bauer is checking out Big Ben and Parliament?
