Lena Dunham to make ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting debut March 8

Lena Dunham’s quest for world domination continues on March 8, when she is set to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time.

In addition to writing and starring in “Girls,” currently in its third season on HBO, Dunham also has a memoir, “Not That Kind of Girl,” coming out in October. She also generated buzz earlier this month with her much-discussed Vogue cover.

Dunham, who won a Golden Globe last year for her performance on “Girls,” has been too busy with her own projects to show off her comedy chops elsewhere. Her last significant appearance outside of the series was in a supporting role in Judd Apatow’s “This is 40” in 2012.

It seems likely that cast member Noel Wells will revive her spot-on Dunham impression during the March 8 broadcast, but here’s hoping Blerta will also make a return visit.

Dunham will be joined by musical guest the National.
