It may be scientifically accurate, but a parents’ TV group thinks Fox’s raunchy new “Animation Domination Hi-Def” is a long way from funny.

The head of the Parents Television Council, an advocacy group that frequently targets network programs it finds unfriendly to families, has written a letter to Fox entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly blasting the network for “Scientifically Accurate Ninja Turtles” (a very NSFW example can be seen on YouTube) and other shorts telecast on “ADHD.”

Fox recently premiered “ADHD” as a late-night rival to NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” with ribald cartoon shorts lampooning such targets as sexting and the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” franchise. More cartoons are available online. Reilly has said he hopes “ADHD” can be a proving ground for future Fox animated series.

That’s not sitting well with the PTC.

“Even if Fox selected only the most benign programs from the ‘ADHD’ block to spin into a half-hour time slot on Sunday nights, there’s no getting around the fact that the online counterpart makes available mind-blowingly explicit parodies of cartoons beloved by millions of children, all without any parental controls or age restrictions whatsoever,” PTC President Tim Winter wrote in the letter.

Winter is asking Reilly to quit making cartoons that parody popular animated characters, such as Donald Duck and the Ninja Turtles, and also add age restrictions to the online content.

Asked about the letter, a Fox spokeswoman emailed back: “No comment.”

The PTC has made the letter public just before Reilly is set to appear before critics Thursday at the TCA press tour in Beverly Hills.
