Kim Kardashian’s platinum hair wasn’t easy

Kim Kardashian stunned at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday, showing off her newly platinum hair. Going from dark tresses to very light is a challenge. We reached out to the hair whisperer who changed her color -- Lorri Goddard of the Goddard + Bragg salon in West Hollywood, who confirmed via email that a lot goes into such a transformation.

“It is extremely difficult to take dark hair to platinum,” Goddard said. “Always start with a strand test to establish if hair is strong enough to take the platinum journey, and begin the hair process away from the scalp, working with ends first as the scalp exudes heat, which quickens the process. It took quite a few hours and involved paying attention to every detail along the process.”

Goddard whipped up a custom shade to work with Kardashian’s skin tone and eye color.

The result almost overshadowed the Balmain and Lanvin shows Kardashian attended in Paris on Thursday.

But not only did Kardashian’s hair make news, she was amost upstaged herself by the newly shaved and shorn Jared Leto, who also turned up as a blond. Could we have a trend in the making?
