Chris March’s Target Halloween headgear: Big Fun, little money

All Hallow’s Eve is just three eves away and if you still haven’t answered the costume question there are still some options -- including some hilarious pieces of foam headgear that can have you making like Medusa, going geisha or slicking back like a ‘50s greaser.

Those were the pieces from “Project Runway” alumnus Chris March’s Big Fun exclusive-to-Target wig collection that were being passed around the office cube farm when I arrived Tuesday morning, part of an eight-piece outsized foam assortment that also includes a towering mohawk, orb-like pink afro, a blond starlet ‘do, a vertical monster bride look, and a two-tone witch wig.

As a hardcore headgear aficionado, this author might take issue (well, split hairs, really) with deeming these things “wigs” in the strictest sense, but it’s hard not to crack a smile after donning one -- and nigh impossible not to laugh when someone else does.

And there’s actually a certain draw -- from a fashion perspective -- to these pieces of headgear, since they allow the wearer to build the rest of the outfit as elaborately or as simply as they wish from their own wardrobe (unless of course, one is going for the old “naked Medusa” costume ...).

The other draw? These bad boys are pretty cheap -- so you don’t have to feel too awfully bad if you end up losing your serpents somewhere over the course of Halloween night.

The Chris March Big Fun wig collection, $15 to $20, is sold exclusively at Target bricks and mortar locations.
