There’s a chicken finger restaurant opening in Costa Mesa

At Raising Cane’s, there’s one thing on the menu: chicken fingers.

Founder Todd Graves decided to open a restaurant in Baton Rouge, La., in 1996 and serve chicken fingers. There are now more than 240 Raising Cane’s restaurants in 20 states. And the next one is opening Thursday in Costa Mesa.

At 9:15 a.m., there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony before the doors open at 10 a.m. The first 20 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive free chicken fingers for a year. That’s a lot of chicken fingers.

The restaurant will serve its signature chicken fingers in a box with crinkle-cut fries, “cane’s sauce” (described on the menu as a tangy sauce with some spice), coleslaw and Texas toast; chicken fingers with Texas toast, fries and a drink; or chicken fingers on a bun with fries and a drink. There are also big boxes of chicken fingers for tailgates, bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings. You get the idea.

The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday to Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday to Saturday for all your chicken finger needs.
