In its latest temporary experiential event space, the design firm We Came in Peace has come up with Persephone’s, an avant-garde flower shop selling gothic flower arrangements planted in handmade ceramic sculptures by ceramist Ben Medansky.

“Our agency’s purpose is to create unforgettable moments in people’s lives through spaces,” says Andrew Stevens of We Came in Peace. “We specialize in creating connected spaces where people come together to have a moment and learn about something or have a good time.”

The seasonal plant shop for Valentine’s Day -- described as an exploration of nature “through the lens of mythology, the occult, femininity and the avant garde” -- features a moss-wrapped staircase inside a two-story industrial loft at the Eastown apartment complex in Hollywood.

Stevens and colleague Kim Swift have partnered with Medansky on a collection of limited-edition living works ranging from $150 to $1,200. Plants range from simple palm fronds and silver dollar eucalyptus to unusual orchids and succulents. Alternate vessels are also available, and customers may bring in their own containers for planting if they like.

Persephone’s also offers artisan chocolates from Compartes Chocolatier, home décor pieces from Not for Sale by Jonathan Pessin, a selection of literature, kaleidoscope glasses by H0les and jewelry by Bing Bang.

Persephone’s botanical shop by We Came in Peace is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Feb. 15 at Eastown, 6201 Hollywood Blvd, No. 3016, Hollywood. Enter on Argyle.
