A body found floating in Echo Park Lake on Saturday morning appears to be that of a 27-year-old man who was reported missing days earlier, according to officials and family members.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office said on its website that 27-year-old Ramon Piche Beltran died Saturday and that his body was discovered at a lake. Facebook user Stephanie Piche posted on Friday that her brother had been missing for three days and was last seen at Echo Park Lake.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the 700 block of Echo Park Avenue around 10:40 a.m. Saturday for a death investigation, said LAPD Officer Aareon Jefferson.

The death investigation had to do with a body found floating in the lake, said Sgt. Rene Chavez with LAPD’s Rampart Division.
