Los Angeles police say they are looking for a man suspected of taking up-skirt photos of girls at a mall in Canoga Park.

For weeks, the LAPD said in a news release, officers have been looking for a suspect who they say went to the Westfield Topanga Plaza Mall on July 20 and tried to take a picture up a 7-year-old girl’s dress.

The girl’s mother scared the man away before deciding to follow him, the LAPD said, and the woman told police she saw the suspect take numerous up-skirt photos of three teenage girls before he left the mall as security closed in.

The suspect is described as being between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-6 and weighing 140 to 160 pounds. He has light brown hair and is between 60 and 70 years old, police said. He was wearing glasses and carrying a brown backpack when he was at the mall, surveillance video showed.

Anyone with information on the matter is urged to call the LAPD sexual-assault detectives unit at (818) 756-3375.
