Service has been halted on a busy Metro line after a train collided with a vehicle Monday morning, authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment, said Ramon Montenegro, spokesman of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Bureau.

It is unclear how the collision occurred, but it was reported at 8:37 a.m. in the 3700 block of South Normandie Avenue, officials said.

The collision forced Metro officials to stop service between Exposition Park and Western Avenue and Exposition Park and Vermont Avenue. Bus shuttles were requested for train passengers.

The train tracks were not damaged in the collision, Montenegro said.
