An Orange County videographer was arrested on suspicion of secretly filming his daughter’s caregivers while they used the bathroom or changed their clothes, police said.

David Lowe, 54, was taken into custody on Tuesday after a yearlong investigation that began when a caregiver spotted images of herself on Lowe’s computer, Brea Police Lt. Darrin Devereux said in a statement.

Lowe is accused of filming 10 caregivers who were responsible for overseeing his mentally disabled adult daughter, police said.

His ruse involved a request to help his daughter: to teach her how to fasten a bra by demonstrating the process themselves. While the partly nude caregivers gave instructions to Lowe’s daughter, he had a hidden camera recording, police said.

During a search of computers at Lowe’s home, located in the 900 block of East Almond Avenue in Brea, police found child pornography as well as “numerous videos” of caregivers.

He faces one felony count of child pornography possession and 10 misdemeanor counts of invading a person’s privacy by using a camera or device.

Lowe is being held at the Central Men’s Jail.

Anyone who worked in Lowe’s home as a caregiver is asked to contact Det. Irene Crews at [email protected].
