Authorities are investigating a hate incident in Valencia, where the sidewalks, benches and buildings of a recreation center were covered with racist messages and swastikas, Santa Clarita valley officials said Tuesday.

The vandalism was discovered Saturday night by someone from the homeowners’ association of Rancho Tesoro, said Lt. S. Low of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The detective bureau and the department’s hate crime task force is working jointly on the investigation, Low said.
