Coroner’s officials have identified three of the five young people who were killed Saturday in a fiery single-car crash in Burbank.

They are: Stephen Stoll, 23, of Burbank; Sameer Joudeh, 18, of Valley Village; and 19-year-old Malak Hariri.

Two others who died in the crash remain unidentified, said Lt. Larry Dietz of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The victims had previously been identified through peers or family members, but only now have they been confirmed by authorities.

The single-car crash occurred about 4:10 a.m. near the Scott Road off-ramp of the 5 Freeway.

It appeared the vehicle was traveling south on San Fernando Boulevard at a high rate of speed when the driver apparently lost control and slammed into a concrete abutment, Burbank police said.

Authorities said that officers who arrived at the scene found the sedan ablaze.

A deliveryman who happened to be nearby pulled one 18-year-old girl from the burning wreckage. She is expected to recover from her injuries.

A vigil at the crash site grew quickly over the last few days as friends stopped to remember the victims and share their grief. And the Burbank City Council on Tuesday held a moment of silence for the victims, with some of their friends and family members in the audience.
