A 20-year-old U.S. Marine was shot and killed outside a San Bernardino strip club early Sunday, police said.

Officers responded about 2:12 a.m. to Flesh Club Showgirls at 100 West Hospitality Lane to a report of a shooting. They found the victim in the parking lot with gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Vicky Cervantes of the San Bernardino Police Department.

Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene, she said.

Cervantes said the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, was serving in the U.S. Marines and was stationed at Twentynine Palms. She said the victim was at the club with several other Marines.
