A cash box and hundreds of dollars worth of cigars were stolen from the Costa Mesa Country Club early Saturday, according to police.

Officers responded to an alarm at the golf course at 1701 Golf Course Drive around 2:20 a.m., Costa Mesa police Sgt. Matt Selinske said.

It appeared someone had entered through an unlocked door and burglarized a room, according to police.
