Crystal Cove Alliance helps students study the ecosystem

Crystal Cove Alliance hosted its first Field Science Saturday to give participants the chance to explore Moro Canyon and investigate the health of the area’s ecosystem.

The free event included 22 participants and will become a monthly activity in January, according to a news release.

Participants visit Bern’s Environmental Loop at Crystal Cove to collect data about the soil, water and plants. Data collected will be shared with local researchers and fed into a new environmental dashboard for Crystal Cove State Park, the release states.
