Shane Victorino gets temporary gig as TBS baseball analyst

Meanwhile, it’s Shane Victorino … talking head?

No, not permanently. He is still eying a big free-agent contract.

But for the next week, the fast-talking Victorino will serve as a guest analyst for TBS’ coverage of baseball’s League Championship series. He starts Monday, in what for now is a three-day deal.

Victorino will be in the studio with commentators Dennis Eckersley and David Wells, and host Matt Winer. He’ll also join the group for the pregame broadcast.

If anything, Victorino talks faster than he runs. They’d better develop a wrap-it-up signal for him, or they may never get back to the game.

Victorino played his final 53 games with the Dodgers, batting .245. Victorino said he would like to return to the Dodgers, but their starting outfield looks full.

He turns 32 next month, so he’ll be signing somewhere, though it appears he is eying his next career.
