October was kind to Central and Northern California resorts. One Lake Tahoe resort is already open, and the Eastern Sierra’s Mammoth Mountain received 18 inches over the weekend, giving it a 36-inch base at higher elevations.

Meanwhile, popular Mountain High, usually the first resort to open in Southern California, has been running snow-making operations and could start spinning the lifts before its planned mid-November debut.

Here’s a look at some opening dates around the state:

Mammoth: Nov. 10

June Mountain: Dec. 10

Mountain High: Mid-November (could be earlier with favorable weather conditions)

Snow Summit and Bear Mountain: Nov. 24-27 (weather permitting) and Dec. 2-3, then daily beginning Dec. 9.

Snow Valley: Nov. 18 (weather permitting)

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe: Monday (Oct. 31)

Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows: Nov. 11

Heavenly Mountain Resort: Nov. 18

Kirkwood Mountain Resort: Nov. 18

Homewood Mountain Resort: Dec. 9
