If Ryan Anderson were to sign with the Lakers this offseason, he would have a short commute to the team’s practice facility in El Segundo. The sweet-shooting forward, who will soon hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent, recently bought a house in nearby Hermosa Beach for $5.48 million.

Built this year, the multilevel home sits near the Strand and offers an industrial play on Traditional design style. Broad steel-paned windows and accents create visual interest against crisp white wood paneling. Black metal railing wraps a front-facing balcony.

Inside, the 4,800 square feet of open interiors have a relaxed vibe with light hardwood floors, painted brickwork, molding and built-ins. Among the features of note are a chef’s kitchen, a home theater, a wet bar with 600-bottle wine storage and a beach room with a fireplace and another wet bar. A four-stop elevator connects each level of the home.

The master suite has another fireplace and radiant heat floors for a total of four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Atop the home, a rooftop deck takes in sweeping views of the ocean and coastline. A separate courtyard sits off the front entry.

The house came on the market in early March for $5.899 million and closed sale in about two months, records show.

Lee LeGrande of NW Real Estate Brokers was the listing agent. Kathy Kernochan of Shorewood realtors represented the buyer.

Anderson, 28, has ties to California having attended UC Berkeley and, before that, Oak Ridge High in El Dorado Hills.
