Man held in Northridge home-invasion robbery

Los Angeles police arrested a man who allegedly tied up an elderly Northridge couple in an apparent home-invasion robbery, police said Wednesday night.

The man and wife, who are in their 80s, were gagged and bound with zip-ties at the home in the 9700 block of Aldea Avenue, said Officer Christopher No of the Los Angeles Police Department.

A daughter walked into the home shortly after 5 p.m and discovered that her parents had been victimized. They told investigators at the scene that the attacker was armed with a handgun.

The suspect allegedly left with the an ATM card and vehicle that belonged to the victims, police said. He was taken into custody a short while later as he allegedly was trying to withdrawal money, according to police.
